The Orlando/Ocoee, Kissimmee, and The Villages surgeons at Central Florida Vein & Vascular Center offer veinlite sclerotherapy to treat spider veins for patients who may not be responsive to other forms of sclerotherapy. Here’s what to expect from this treatment.
Veinlite Sclerotherapy Treatment
Similar to other forms of sclerotherapy treatment, this procedure involves a physician injecting a sclerosing agent into the affected vein. This agent is often made of concentrated saline although other solutions are available. This concentrated solution causes the vein to fade away. The vein itself is not removed, but the appearance is greatly diminished. Patients may experience stinging during the procedure, but the discomfort is minimal.
An Effective Spider Vein Treatment
Veinlite sclerotherapy uses veinlite to target the feeder vessels that are causing the spider veins. Unlike ultrasound guided sclerotherapy, which targets deeper veins, veinlite sclerotherapy is ideal for veins closer to the skin’s surface which allows the physician vein access. These feeder vessels, typically blue-green in color, can be located 4-8 inches away from the spider vein and aren’t visible to the human eye. It’s important that the physician properly targets these feeder vessels to prevent reoccurrence of the spider vein.

All of our procedures are minimally invasive—meaning you’ll find no painful vein stripping here. Most insurance companies cover an initial consultation, so you can gain a full understanding of your current venous health. You’ll be happy to hear that treatment itself is sometimes covered by insurance as well.
