The American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine offers certification in the specialty of phlebology. Dr. Agis and Dr. Horowitz have both met rigorous standards of education, experience, and evaluation and are two of only 700 physicians in the United States who have this specialized
certification.
American Venous Forum
Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Agis are proud members of the American Venous Forum where they contribute their time and expertise to further scientific and clinical research, education physicians and fellows, create unique public awareness programs and provide state-of-the-art patient care for people with venous disease.
ACR
The Ultrasound Accreditation Program involves the acquisition of clinical images, submission of relevant physician reports corresponding to clinical images submitted, and quality control documentation. The ACR Appropriateness Criteria® are evidence-based guidelines to assist referring physicians and other providers in making the most appropriate imaging or treatment decision for a specific clinical condition. By employing these guidelines, providers enhance quality of care and contribute to the most efficacious use of radiology. Central Florida Vein and Vascular Center is proud to be ACR accredited.
FACS
The American College of Surgeons is dedicated to improving the care of the surgical patient and to safeguarding standards of care in an optimal and ethical practice environment. Members of the ACS are referred to as “Fellows.” The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon’s name mean that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the College. Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Agis are proud members of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
American Vein and Lymphatic Society
The American Vein and Lymphatic Society is the premier association for physicians and allied health professionals dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of venous and lymphatic disease. As the industry’s leading experts, the AVLS seeks to improve the standards of medical practitioners, the quality of patient care and the level of assistance practitioners can access. The AVLS is comprised of 2,000 vein care professionals, setting the pace and direction for the growth of the field of phlebology. All of the providers at Central Florida Vein and Vascular are proud to be members of this elite group of medical providers in the American Vein and Lymphatic Society.
Florida Vascular Society
The Florida Vascular Society was established in 1988 to promote the science and art of the diagnosis and management of Vascular Disease and encourage research and education in the field. Central Florida Vein and Vascular is a member of the Florida Vascular Society.
Southern Association for Vascular Surgery
The SAVS was established to promote the art and science of vascular surgery and to further education in the comprehensive care of vascular disease, including disorders of the arteries, veins, lymphatics and microcirculation exclusive of the heart and brain. Central Florida Vein and Vascular is proud to be a member of the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery (SAVS).
