Dr. Rafael Quinones is originally from Puerto Rico and he is a graduate from the University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Quinones earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of Sevilla, Spain. After Medical School he returned to Puerto Rico to complete a Surgical residency at the University Hospital of Ponce. He became an Associate Professor of Surgery at two Medical Schools and Surgical Residencies. The Mid-Michigan Physician Group recruited him where he became the Director of Surgery and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Central Michigan University.
With over 30 years’ experience treating patients with venous disease Dr. Quinones has extensive experience with minimally invasive vein therapies including Endovenous Laser Therapy, Radiofrequency Vein Ablation, and Venaseal therapy that uses cyanoacrylate glue to fuse veins together.
Dr. Quinones is Board Certified in General Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a lifetime member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society.
He and his wife Pamela have four daughters, 2 grandchildren and expect more in the future. Dr. Quinones enjoys golf, fine dining, and travel with his wife.
